Synopsis
Evidence shows that the foundations for learning are largely built in the early years of life, before a child ever crosses the threshold of a primary school, yet many countries prioritize investing in other levels of education.
The Product
An immersive print report inspired by children’s picture books that creates a playful experience for education ministers, policy makers, and government officials to communicate how early childhood education impacts a child’s development, but simultaneously sheds light on the urgency of this topic and how millions of children around the world aren’t provided this basic right.
To keep the focus on the key messages and data the content had to be restructured in a self-explanatory way with the help of icons. Basic shapes and primary colors were used to stay true to the concept of early childhood education. Primary colors were chosen from UNICEF’s secondary color palette in the brand manual.
Treatment for Data Charts / Graphs
Data that usually gets hidden in large paragraphs was represented by using bold typography. This style and application let key figures in each section call for attention and action.
